Accelerating Values-Based Leader Development
in a Turbulent World

Under pressure, coal turns to diamonds. Leadership must be the same way: to manage the complexity of our global world, we must be able to develop into something altogether new.

Turn up the pressure, and we must be able to transform.

Bernie Banks, Kellogg School of Management, West PointYet, studies say that only 7% of organizations feel they are prepared to face the challenges ahead. Our next Senior Executive Roundtable (March 27, 2020) tackles this topic with a two-part session guided by one of the world’s foremost leadership scholar-practitioners, Dr. Bernie Banks of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Dr. Banks was a former senior leader in the U.S. Army where his service culminated as the Head of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership at West Point.

In Session 1, Accelerating Values-Based Leader Development, Dr. Banks will explore why so many organization’s leadership development plans fail to achieve their desired aims. The session will also consider how leaders can enhance their efforts to develop values-based leaders effectively. Using your own leadership as a test case, you’ll be introduced to a new tool for defining the leadership growth you need and identifying your path forward. Dr. Banks will draw from evidence-based research and his global leadership experience to illustrate how this tool can be used to develop capacity at any level, from your executive team to your frontline staff.

In Session 2, we’ll turn our attention to Leading in a VUCA Context. Organizations are increasingly facing environments that are volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. Can we adapt quickly enough to keep up? How as leaders can be both steady and dynamic? Building on his military background and history as a scholar, Dr. Banks will help us develop the skills to do both.

Join us on Friday, March 27th, for this roll-up-your-sleeves, exceptional executive education experience.

Bring Your Leadership Team

The CVDL’s Roundtables are specifically designed to accommodate leadership teams. By bringing your senior team, your organization will:

  • Gain access to top name thinkers and authors at a fraction of the cost of hosting the speaker on your own;
  • Start conversations and spark innovation organization-wide;
  • Quickly identify transferable concepts and leave the Roundtable with action steps in place;
  • Meet and exchange ideas with executives from other companies while still having time for deep-diving into valuable conversations with your team.
“Bringing my leadership team to the Roundtable was like a one-day intensive retreat: we left with new ideas we were ready to implement as a team.”

– Jeff Swallow, CEO, Magnetrol
