Doctoral Research Drawing from Military Experience
Veterans and Officers in our Ph.D./D.B.A. program draw from their military experience to inform their dissertation research. Here we share two outstanding examples:
At the Intersection of Love & Leadership
When preparing for active duty in Afghanistan, Lieutenant Colonel Joe Riccardi was told by a commanding officer that the best thing he could do for his soldiers was to truly love them. This thought inspired Riccardi’s leadership, and later his dissertation research. Click the image to read more.
Making a Successful Midlife Transition
When Colonel Lee DeRemer began to consider his transition out of military service, he looked for resources on how to make a successful midlife transition. Finding none, he pursued the topic as his dissertation and now offers a model for moving to the next chapter of life. Hear more in the short video above.
Honoring Those Who Served
Recently, doctoral student Christopher Lauritzen, a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, wrote this tribute in honor of the men and women of the Armed Services who made the ultimate sacrifice.
